Paige Mangialardi

I like doing fitness photos. The clients are fun to work with. They are enthusiastic. And more often than not they will try just about anything. These athletes are very fit and they look great.

Paige Mangialardi is no exception. I met with her three times between April and July, 2016. She was preparing for two upcoming competitions, one on June 11 and the other on July 9. Each time the photos got better and more of her personality began to shine through as we got used to working together.

Paige told me she had always been active in a number of sports but her true passion was dance. That is where she learned the confidence, poise and grace that shows in these photos.

She had been in several fitness competitions before we met but she was particularly excited about the upcoming ones as they would be her debut with the Ontario Physique Association.

Her fitness coach is Nick Geris of Team T-Rex and with his help and her hard work she won her bikini class June 11 in Guelph and took the overall bikini title on July 9 in Hamilton. One of the photos above is Paige in her green bikini. This shot was taken the day after her win in Hamilton. The look on her face shows how thrilled she was.

She had been training hard prior to the competition and she didn’t get a lot of sleep the night before our shoot but still she was totally energized when we met.  As evidence she gave me a dozen pushups in the middle of the well known Allen Lambert Galleria, a six story high atrium in Brookfield Place in downtown Toronto on Bay Street.

I want to thank Kim and Gord at “Are you Game” (www.areyougame.ca) in Whitby where we were able to start our project as well as Junyan at the “Dance Annex” (www.danceannex.ca) on Bloor street where we completed our second shoot. The streets and alleyways and buildings of downtown Toronto provided the setting for the final shots.
